Rules Variants

Older Great Nephling hasn't quite got the hang of the rules of Hide and Seek.
I could assume that looking around while nominally counting with eyes closed was intentional cheating, but jumping out and shouting "I'm here!" when in hiding suggests that further explanation of the game might be required...

Disciplinary

Grandchild is experimenting with boundaries.

Grandchild likes to help with the washing up after breakfast, but knows it's against the rules to touch the stuff further along the kitchen counter.
Today after three repeats of "No, that's not allowed" Grandma resorted to the removal of washing up privileges.

Felt bad because there were actual howls of distress at the removal of the splashy fun.
Also, I had to finish the washing up myself during nap time.
